April Fun

This post is out of order, but here are some pictures from April:

Eric and I took the kids up to Steamboat for the weekend to see Grammy and Grandpa Rlowe.  The weather was beautiful and we had a wonderful time.  We packed in a lot of activities into one weekend.

Hanging out on Grammy and Grandpa Rlowe's deck enjoying the sun

The kids helped Grandpa Rlowe clean his tractor and Ranger Rick.  They had a blast using the hose and scrubbing off the mud.

Once it was clean they got to go for a Ranger Rick ride with Grandpa Rlowe

There is a reindeer farm near the house and the kids got to see tsome baby reindeer

Next the kids went for tractor rides

We continued to hang out outside after the tractor rides.  The kids love swinging on the ski lift swings in the front yard.

The next day:

Finally a family photo of the 4 of us with all our eyes open

Playing "Grandpa chase me" on the front driveway

Next we took the kids down to the barn to ride one of Grammy's friend's pony Sugar. The kids had so much fun riding Sugar and as you can see the weather was perfect.

After riding at the barn we went home for lunch and then we were off again to the pool at Old Town Hot Springs.  The kids had a blast swimming there.

Later that afternoon we hung out on the front driveway again and Ashton pulled me and Cate around in the wagon.  He is a strong boy.

Later that evening we grilled out and spent some time hanging out on the deck.  Cate and Ashton gave Uncle Q wagon rides.

Needless to say we were all very tired from all the fun we had.  Grammy made up stories with the kids at bed time.

The next day we headed home.  Ashton asked us why the dogs were in the car.  When we told him that it was because we were going home he immediately started crying.  He LOVES going to Steamboat because he gets to be so active.

Last month Aunt Steph came to visit.  This is a picture from our dinner at Red Robin

The kids can now climb the tower at the park all by themselves and can get back down on their own.

Cate and Ashton giving each other pony rides

On a snowy day we make homemade playdough

Here is a picture of Ashton at the dentist.  He is watching the movie Cars on the ceiling.  He didn't move a muscle the whole time.  He was so in to the movie.

I took the kids to see the movie The Croods.  It was cute and Cate really enjoyed it.  Ashton fell asleep half way through the movie.

Making candy towers

I took the kids to the rec center to practice what they are learning in swim lessons.  They have learned a lot in the few weeks that they have been going.

A walk on a beautiful Colorado day with the kids.

Two kids on a trike is all I have to say :)

Easter morning

Hunting for Easter eggs that the Easter bunny hid

Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Pat came over for Easter dinner.  We hid some eggs in the yard for the kids.

Easter Eggstravaganza

Today was the Easter Eggstravaganza in our neighborhood.  The weather was beautiful and the kids had a great time.

Before the event began we had a picnic lunch at the park

Then the kids got to pose for a picture with the Easter Bunny

Next we headed over for a train ride.  The kids were very happy that they got to ride in the caboose.

Next was the giant slide.  The kids climbed up there all on their own and had a blast sliding back down.

The event had different egg grabs for each age group of kids.  Ashton's group went before Cate and we explained to him before it that they were going to blow a horn and that he could run in there and get as many eggs as he could.  He seemed to understand until it actually started and he walked out into the middle, froze, and then started crying.  I ran in there and tried to help him get some eggs.  In the end he got a few eggs.

Then Cate got her turn to get eggs.  She was all over it and filled her entire basket with eggs.

We had a wonderful time and are so happy to live in such a great neighborhood that puts on these great holiday events.
