Little Girl

Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt brought Cate a new outfit when they came to visit. I put it on her today and she really looked like a little girl and not a baby. Here are some pictures of her modeling the new outfit.

Also when Frank and Cathy were here Eric and I went to Boston for the weekend. We stayed overnight downtown. We had such a great time. We ate at a wonderful restaurant in the North End and did a lot of walking and exploring. On Sunday we walked over to Bunker Hill Monument and we walked all 297 steps to the top. The weather was great for us while we were away.

If you look very closely you can see Eric standing in front of the monument.

We took this picture on our walk to dinner.

Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt came out visit us for a few days. It has been wonderful having them here with us. Eric and I went to Boston over the weekend so Cate got to spend some quality time with her grandparents. They also spent the day with her on Tuesday while I was at work. They took her to the zoo. Here are some pictures of the fun things we have been doing:

Fairy Dress

It has been very hot, humid, and muggy here this week. We haven't been able to play outside very much so I have had to come up with some creative indoor activity ideas. So when I picked Cate up from day care today I brought Cate home and painted her nails and danced with her in her fairy dress. It amazes me that Cate is willing to sit still to have her nails painted. She let me paint her fingers and toes. Once her nails were done and she was in her dress she started twirling all around the living room. It was so cute.

Video of Cate

Recently I got a baby doll for Cate because she has been "rocking" and "feeding" her stuffed animals. We went to the store together and I helped her to pick out a baby and then we got a bottle and a stroller for the baby. Ever since she has taken her baby doll everywhere with her. I have a feeling that she is going to be a great big sister. Lately Cate has been playing a lot more independently. It is so fun to watch her play and to see what she comes up with.

The past few days

Here are some pictures of Cate from the last few days.

Cate loves to take her shopping cart across the street to get the mail from the mail box.

Here is a picture of her in a new dress that she got from Grammy. She loved having it on and liked to twirl around.

Today we went to the beach near our house. Cate was much more daring and she went right into the water and started splashing around. She really enjoyed putting seashells in her bucket and then throwing them into the water.

Day at the Farm

Today I took Cate to a farmland that has a lot of farm animals that you can feed and pet. It was like a giant petting zoo. They had lots of different types of goats, sheep, cows, and birds. Cate was in animal heaven. As soon as we walked in she starting saying "feed, feed, feed". She thought feeding them was so much fun. We were there for 3 hours and it didn't feel like that long. The place was an hour and 15 minutes away so I was waiting for a day where I felt like making the trip and I knew the weather was going to be nice. Overall the day was perfect. We even went on a hay ride around the farm where we got to see some of the bigger animals.

Here is a picture of Cate walking with one of the baby goats

Here is Cate feeding some calves. She wasn't afraid of them at all and she loved to pet them too.

In one of the areas they had a place that had about 7 "cozy coops" that kids could drive or push around. Cate ended up being the only kid in the area and she kept getting in and out of all the cars. We were playing with the cars for about a half hour.

Here is a video clip of Cate feeding the animals.

Here is a picture of the growing belly. I am 20 weeks pregnant today. I can't believe I am at the half way point already.

Cate saw me posing for a belly picture and she kept asking Eric to take one of her. So here is Cate's belly picture.

This evening Cate decided that she wanted to twirl in the kitchen. She loved it so much and got soooo dizzy. She just kept on twirling and twirling and twirling. I had to stop the video because I was afraid that she was going to fall and hit her head.

New Hair Do

I went to pick Cate up from day care today and they had put her hair up in a small pony tail. It looks so adorable. I can't believe they had enough hair to get it to stay in. I am so happy with the day care that we take her to. Today was "swim day" and they said that Cate jumped right into the baby pool and had the best time playing with her friends. When I picked her up she went around the room and said "bye" to all of her friends and patted them on the back. It was so sweet. It is great for her to have a fun place to go a couple days a week.

Museum

Today we took Cate to the Children's Museum. She had a wonderful time and she loved to show Aunt Steph around. Here are some pictures of our visit:

Aunt Steph came up with a wonderful way to get Cate to eat her ham. Cate now loves to dip her ham in ketchup. As you can see a lot of the ketchup ended up on her face, but she did eat all of her ham.

Cooking and Park

Today Steph and I took Cate to the park and then we baked some cupcakes. She loved helping make the cupcakes. She loved stirring the mix and then she put all of the cupcake papers in the pan. It was really fun to watch her make the cupcakes. Of course after we made them we had to try them. Cake enjoyed eating them just as much as she enjoyed making them.

NYC Trip

This weekend Eric and I went to NY for a friend's wedding. Aunt Steph was very nice and stayed home with Cate for the weekend so that we could have a little time away. It was a quick trip but we did a lot and had a great time. On Saturday before the wedding we walked around the city and went to Times Square and Central Park. Then on Sunday we took a guided tour of Madison Square Garden. It was a great tour and we learned a lot about the garden. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Here are a couple of pictures of Cate in her car seat in the car. (I was not driving when these pictures were taken)

Aunt Steph

Aunt Steph came out to visit us for a week. Cate is loving having someone else to play with. Yesterday Cate, Steph, and I went to the zoo. We had a lot of fun. We got there pretty early so we got to see a lot of the animals out eating their breakfast. We got to see the Giraffes and Elephants up really close. At 10:30 they had bath time for the Elephants. We thought Cate would love to see them get a bath but when the zoo keepers started to spray the elephant with water Cate started to cry. She didn't like seeing the elephants get sprayed down with water. I think that she thought the zoo keepers were being mean to the elephants.
