Park

This morning was a beautiful and sunny morning, so we decided to take Cate to a park that is 2 minutes from our house. I had taken her on a walk near the park in the winter but we haven't been to the park since the weather got nice. It is a great park with lots of equipment that I remember playing on when I was little. They had a teeter totter, monkey bars, and a thing you sit on and spin. The park is right on the water and there is a small beach next to it. After playing at the park for a while Eric took Cate down to the water to play. She loved picking up seashells and then throwing them into the water. This park is a winner and I bet we will be spending a lot of time there during the summer.

Funny Picture

Here is a funny picture of Cate. She was very cranky on Monday when we got back from NY, but Eric was able to make her happy with a pacifier and pink glasses.

Trip to NYC

For the Memorial Day weekend Eric, Cate and I drove down to New York. We stayed at Uncle Charlie's and Aunt Janice's house. The weather while we were there was wonderful so we were able to walk around the city and then we went out to visit Cris, Sean, Sullivan, and Braden. We all had such a great time while we were down there. Here are some pictures and video of our visit.

Here is a picture of Cate taking her first subway ride. She really enjoyed watching all the people and watching the doors open and close.

We went to central park and found a toddler park. There was a big marble slide that Cate loved going down. Here is a picture of her going down with Aunt Janice.

Then we went to the zoo in Central park. Cate really enjoyed seeing all of the animals.

The next day we went over to Cris and Sean's house for the day. Here is a picture of Cate with Sullivan and Braden.

Eric gave Sullivan a baseball that tells you how fast you throw it. They played catch out in the yard for a while.

Here is a picture of Eric with his godson's and his daughter. What a lucky guy!!

Sullivan was very sweet with the two babies. He was so patient with them. He sat on the couch and read them an entire book. Cate especially liked having Sullivan read to her.

Here is a video of Sullivan showing Cate how the Jack in the Box works. Cate really enjoyed playing with Sullivan.

18 Month Stats

I took Cate in for her 18 month check up today and here are her stats:
Height: 32.5 inches (75%)
Weight: 26 lbs (75%)

I think that it is safe to say that she is taking after Eric with her height. I don't think I was ever in the 75th percentile for anything. The doctor said that she is doing everything that she is supposed to and that she is very healthy.

Chalk

Today was a beautiful day out so Cate and I played in the back yard. She loved to run around in the grass and chase Buddy.

Then we went downstairs to the basement so that she could color with chalk on the chalkboard.

She also acted like the chalk was chapstick and rubbed it all over her lips. She ended up with very pink lips.

Pretty Girl

Yesterday was a very nice and sunny day. Cate was able to wear a skirt and tee shirt for the first time. She loved walking around the front yard and looking at the flowers.

Mother's Day

My parents came out to visit for a few days. They flew in on Saturday afternoon. For Mother's Day we decided to head into Boston. When we got to Boston the weather looked nice so we just decided to walk around the city. We went to Quincy Market first. Cate loved walking around there. Then we started to head toward Boston Common Park. On the way we stopped for a sandwich. Once we got to the park there were a lot of people there and most of the kids were dressed up like little ducklings. It was so cute. We took Cate down to the pond to see all of the ducks and then we walked through the park a bit. There were four policemen on horses, so Cate stopped to say hello to the horses. After we walked around some more we headed back home. For dinner we went out to a restaurant that was close to home. It was right on the water and the food was wonderful. We all had different types of fresh seafood. We had a great Mother's Day and it is so great to have my parents here.

Pat and Don's Visit

Aunt Pat and Uncle Don came out to visit us for a few days. It was so wonderful to have them here and to show them around. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too great, but we made the best of it. We gave them a tour around Providence, went to the Children's Museum, and went to Newport. We had such a great time and it was sad to see them leave. Here are some pictures of their visit.

Here is a video of Cate feeding Buddy. She loves to feed him and if she had it her way he would eat 10 times a day.
