Hair

I was able to get a hair clip into Cate's hair today for the first time (you might have to zoom in to see the clip though). I know that usually the first picture of a hair clip is around 3 months of age, but this was the first time I could get a clip to stay.

Here is a picture of Cate when we asked her to smile. You get a great view of her teeth.

We went down by the water today and Cate helped Dad throw seashells into the water.

Horseneck Beach

Today we took Cate to Horseneck Beach. It is about 30 minutes from our house and it is a beautiful beach. We have been waiting for it to be warm enough to go to the beach. When we got there, at about 9:00am, it was still a bit cool and hazy. We set up all our stuff on the beach and got out Cate's toys. By the time we got out all of our stuff the haze had lifted and the sun was out. It warmed up really quickly. Cate was very excited to start digging in the sand. She dove right into the sand.

Here is Cate playing with Daddy when we first got to the beach

Cate loved filling up her buckets with sand

Cate enjoyed covering my feet with sand

Cate thought that it would be fun to try to swim in the sand. She was having a great time until......

She got a mouthful of sand

Baby Pool

I got out the baby pool for Cate today. I wasn't sure what she would think but she climbed right into the pool and started splashing around. She liked to play in the pool for a while and then go sit on the rock and drink her juice. We had a lot of fun in the yard today.

I included a picture of poor Buddy. He cut his foot at the dog park the other day, so we had to get him a "lamp shade" so that he won't lick the wound. He looks so sad when we put the shade on his head. His foot is getting better though.

And for those of you who don't know yet, I am pregnant! I am 11 weeks along now. That means that the baby is due on Christmas Day. It is crazy to think that Cate is going to be the big sister.

Park

This morning was a beautiful and sunny morning, so we decided to take Cate to a park that is 2 minutes from our house. I had taken her on a walk near the park in the winter but we haven't been to the park since the weather got nice. It is a great park with lots of equipment that I remember playing on when I was little. They had a teeter totter, monkey bars, and a thing you sit on and spin. The park is right on the water and there is a small beach next to it. After playing at the park for a while Eric took Cate down to the water to play. She loved picking up seashells and then throwing them into the water. This park is a winner and I bet we will be spending a lot of time there during the summer.

Funny Picture

Here is a funny picture of Cate. She was very cranky on Monday when we got back from NY, but Eric was able to make her happy with a pacifier and pink glasses.

Trip to NYC

For the Memorial Day weekend Eric, Cate and I drove down to New York. We stayed at Uncle Charlie's and Aunt Janice's house. The weather while we were there was wonderful so we were able to walk around the city and then we went out to visit Cris, Sean, Sullivan, and Braden. We all had such a great time while we were down there. Here are some pictures and video of our visit.

Here is a picture of Cate taking her first subway ride. She really enjoyed watching all the people and watching the doors open and close.

We went to central park and found a toddler park. There was a big marble slide that Cate loved going down. Here is a picture of her going down with Aunt Janice.

Then we went to the zoo in Central park. Cate really enjoyed seeing all of the animals.

The next day we went over to Cris and Sean's house for the day. Here is a picture of Cate with Sullivan and Braden.

Eric gave Sullivan a baseball that tells you how fast you throw it. They played catch out in the yard for a while.

Here is a picture of Eric with his godson's and his daughter. What a lucky guy!!

Sullivan was very sweet with the two babies. He was so patient with them. He sat on the couch and read them an entire book. Cate especially liked having Sullivan read to her.

Here is a video of Sullivan showing Cate how the Jack in the Box works. Cate really enjoyed playing with Sullivan.
