Colorado Trip

Eric, Cate and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Colorado. We stayed with Eric's parents for a few days and then we went up to the mountains to stay with my parents. Here are a bunch of pictures from our visit.

Cute Pictures

Here are a few pictures of Cate playing at the house:

Eric and I got her a popper and she loves it so much. She pushes it everywhere.

If you look closely you can see Buddy in his kennel. Cate loves to put a towel on his feet and say "night, night". It is very sweet.

Here she is with her towel ready to tuck Buddy in

Trip to the Zoo

Today Cate and I went to a small zoo in the area. Lately I have been feeling that between work and doing dishes, laundry, and cleaning the house I haven't spent a great quality day with Cate. So I saw that the weather report for today was sunny and warm, so I decided to take Cate to the zoo. We had a great time. She loves to see animals. Each cage that we went to Cate had to say "hi" and "bye" to all of the animals. Today the kangaroos were all hopping and playing, which Cate thought was very funny.

This is a picture of Cate laughing at the Kangaroos.

Here is a picture of a Sloth Bear. She was sitting by the water just hanging out. Cate really liked the bears.

I remembered to bring quarters today so that Cate could ride some of the little rides.

Last time we were at the zoo we saw that they were building a small water park. So today I brought her swimsuit and a towel. I got her all dressed up and ready to go and she had no interest in playing in the water. There was a lot of squirting water and I have to admit it looked a little intimidating. So Cate didn't go in but we will have to try again sometime soon.

Hair

I was able to get a hair clip into Cate's hair today for the first time (you might have to zoom in to see the clip though). I know that usually the first picture of a hair clip is around 3 months of age, but this was the first time I could get a clip to stay.

Here is a picture of Cate when we asked her to smile. You get a great view of her teeth.

We went down by the water today and Cate helped Dad throw seashells into the water.

Horseneck Beach

Today we took Cate to Horseneck Beach. It is about 30 minutes from our house and it is a beautiful beach. We have been waiting for it to be warm enough to go to the beach. When we got there, at about 9:00am, it was still a bit cool and hazy. We set up all our stuff on the beach and got out Cate's toys. By the time we got out all of our stuff the haze had lifted and the sun was out. It warmed up really quickly. Cate was very excited to start digging in the sand. She dove right into the sand.

Here is Cate playing with Daddy when we first got to the beach

Cate loved filling up her buckets with sand

Cate enjoyed covering my feet with sand

Cate thought that it would be fun to try to swim in the sand. She was having a great time until......

She got a mouthful of sand

Baby Pool

I got out the baby pool for Cate today. I wasn't sure what she would think but she climbed right into the pool and started splashing around. She liked to play in the pool for a while and then go sit on the rock and drink her juice. We had a lot of fun in the yard today.

I included a picture of poor Buddy. He cut his foot at the dog park the other day, so we had to get him a "lamp shade" so that he won't lick the wound. He looks so sad when we put the shade on his head. His foot is getting better though.

And for those of you who don't know yet, I am pregnant! I am 11 weeks along now. That means that the baby is due on Christmas Day. It is crazy to think that Cate is going to be the big sister.
