Halloween

For Halloween Cathy and I took the kids trick or treating.  Ashton was a pumpkin and Cate was Cinderella.  Both kids had a great time.
Ashton loved it when I put the costume on him.  He really enjoyed going out trick or treating too.

Cate was a beautiful Cinderella for Halloween.  She loved going out trick or treating.  It was so much fun going trick or treating with her.

What cute kids!!!

Colorado

The kids and I are officially in Colorado now.  We are living at The Schmidt's until our stuff arrives on the moving truck.  I still feel like I am on vacation and it hasn't really sunk in yet that we are living here now.  Probably when all of the stuff gets delivered to our house and we move in it will feel more real.  I have been down to our townhouse a few times and it looks great.  Last Friday and Saturday Uncle Don helped me do a bunch of paining.  We painted the kids rooms and two bathrooms.  It looks great.  Here are some pictures of what we have been up to the last week:

A week ago the kids and I boarded a plane and headed out to Colorado.  Here is a picture of Ashton on the plane. (this is when he was still behaving himself)

I took the kids for a walk.  I love the Colorado mountain air!
Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt have all sorts of dress up clothes for Cate to play with.  She loves dressing up like Minnie Mouse.

Here is Ashton playing in the living room which has been converted into a play room.

Cathy and I took the kids to a play place with lots of bouncy things to play on.  Here is a picture of me taking Ashton down the slide.  He loved it!

Last days in Rhode Island

Ashton has gotten very good at walking.  He now tries to walk instead of crawling.  He has discovered that walking is great because he can carry stuff with him.

Cate got a tool set (from the show Handy Manny).  She loves going around and "fixing" things.

Ashton has started walking around on the lion.  He is getting so big!

Out for a walk on the bike path by our house.  It is so pretty right now because the leaves are starting to change.

On Wednesday the kids and I are off to Colorado!  Eric will be driving out later.  I can't believe that we are really moving back!

Cate's Party

Eric and I decided to have an early birthday party/going away party for Cate before we moved back to Colorado.  Eric really wanted to get a bouncy house for the party.  First he ordered just the basic bouncy house but the day before the party he called them back and upgraded to a bouncy house with a slide.  Below are pictures of Cate playing in the giant bouncy house.  The company delivered the bouncy house at 10:00 in the morning and the party wasn't until 3:30.  So we all got to play in the house before everyone arrived.  I am not sure who had more fun, the adults or the kids!  The weather was fantastic and it was so much fun having all of our friends over one last time.

The company didn't come to pick up the bouncy house until 9:30 this morning so Eric, Cate, Ashton and I all played in the bouncy house for about and hour and a half.  We had so much fun playing this morning.  Playing in a bouncy house is great exercise.  We were all pretty worn out.

Cate was able to climb up to the slide all by herself

A great action shot of Cate jumping in the bouncy house

The bouncy house took up so much space.  It is a good thing that we have a big back yard.  If you look closely you can see Cate on the slide.

For the party I made maps (like on Dora the Explorer) so the kids could go around the yard to find their party favors.  Cate loved doing the map and kept asking if she could do it again.

Here is a picture of the girls (Cate, Anna, and Paige) following their maps.

Here is a picture of Cate's birthday cake that I made.  Cate was so excited to have everyone sing to her and to get to eat cake.

Cate, Anna, and Jack playing in the bouncy house

Here is a video of Cate going down the slide.  I love how she squeals with excitement.

Here is a picture of the kids with Miss Kathi.  She is the woman who watches them while I work.  She has been an absolute godsend for us.  She is so great with the kids and the kids love her.  Cate is always asking about Miss Kathi and Ashton always smiles when she comes over.  We are going to miss her so much.  She has been so good to our family.

Cate got a Dora doll from one of her friends.  She opened up the present and had a look of amazement on her face when she saw Dora.

Mr. Trouble!

Now that Ashton is walking he is getting to even more trouble than before :)  He is a busy boy who loves to get into everything.  He is such a happy boy who is very happy to be walking.
This is a video of Ashton walking.  He is wearing Elmo PJs and Cate only stopped wearing them 6 months ago.  It is crazy that he is already big enough to wear them.

Here is a video of Ashton walking across the kitchen

This is the "wall" of stuff that we have to put around Cate so that she can eat her breakfast in the morning without Ashton getting it.

We bought Candy Land for Cate and she loves to play it.  It is fun that she is able to play games with us now.

Pictures from my phone

I just uploaded some of these pictures of the kids from my phone and I thought that I would post them on the blog.  They are pictures I have taken over the last month.

Ashton loves riding on this pony

We were at a restaurant and Ashton was getting a little restless so Eric gave him a lemon wedge.  He actually liked it and ate quite a bit of it.  I love his face in this picture.
