Chalk
Today was a nice day so Cate and I went out and colored with some chalk in the driveway. Cate loved the chalk and thought it was fun to take them out of the bucket and put them back. Here is a picture and a video of her out in the driveway.

More Spring Fun!
Yesterday we had spring like weather again so we were able to enjoy the outdoors. We took Cate to a park that is at the library I go to. It is a great big play ground with two separate areas for older and younger kids. It is the best play ground. Cate had a great time running around and climbing on all the equipment. Eric and I enjoyed watching her be free outside. Then we went home and had lunch outside on our deck. It was so nice to spend the whole day outside. Last night we went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant that someone at Eric's office recommended. We have been craving mexican food since we moved here. The food was okay, but the menu was pretty funny. It had a big section in the middle that explained what each dish was. It explained what a taco, burrito, enchilada, tostada, etc were. It was funny to us to see that on the menu. Good mexican food is hard to find out here. I have posted a few pictures of our fun day yesterday.

Cate has transitioned into a one nap a day girl. It has been nice for me because now I can take her to the gym with me at 8:30 instead of having to go in the afternoon or before she gets up in the morning. So our new routine is that we go to the gym and then when we get home she has a snack and then I put her in her pack'n'play while I take a shower. She seems to really enjoy it. She sits in there quietly and reads books to herself. It is so sweet. It is nice to have a safe place to put her while I get a few things done. Here are a couple of pictures of her playing.

Spring is here?
Here are a couple pictures of Catherine playing during the week. In one of the pictures you can see that her hair is starting to grow. It is pretty blonde. In the other picture, she likes to tip over her lion and say "uh oh". It is pretty funny.

Today it was 60 degrees outside!!!! We took advantage of the weather and went down to the water and walked around. It was a beautiful day. It was sunny and more importantly not windy. Eric and I looked at each other and realized why everyone says that New England in the spring is beautiful. We also took Cate to the park and let her run around and play. She loves to run and to watch other people. It was so much fun to be able to go outside and enjoy ourselves. We have been feeling very couped up in our house lately.

Oh, what to do???
Since it has been cold and snowy, we are running out of ideas of things to do with Cate. I thought it would be fun to get out some of our moving boxes and make a tunnel for Cate to crawl through. She was unsure at first but once she went through it she thought it was really fun. She also liked wearing her CU Buffs hat. We got it for her a while ago and it now fits her head. It snowed a lot here yesterday and today so it is cold and windy. So for something to do I took Cate to the grocery store and let her run around there. Needless to say we can't wait for the weather to get warmer so that we can do things outside instead of going to the grocery store for fun.

Lots of Play
In the last few weeks Eric and I have noticed a big change in Cate. We feel like she has all of the sudden transitioned from baby to toddler. We have been noticing many new things that she can do and say. We think that she is picking up a lot at day care too. Here are some of the new things that Cate is doing:
-In addition to "mama", "dada", and "yah", she can now say "da" (dog), "uh oh", and "bye bye"
-She likes to hide toys behind her back and when you ask her where it went, she swings it around to her front and smiles.
-She can point to her head, nose, eyes, mouth, ears, tummy, toes, feet, and diaper when asked.
-If you ask her to go and get something like a book or a ball she will go and look for it and bring it to you.
-She loves to kiss things and to blow kisses. Her way of saying thank you is to blow a kiss. It is sooo adorable
-She is starting to pretend a little bit. If you give her a bowl and a spoon, she will stir with the spoon and then try to feed you
-Daddy's new favorite thing that she does is that she will pat you on the back when you are holding her.
Catherine decided that it would be fun to climb into a box and have Daddy carry her around

Here are some pictures and a video of our trip to the Children's museum:

This time at the museum she was able to take the pegs out and then put them back into the holes

Playing Outside
It was finally a nice enough day to play outside. Cate and I went out onto the deck and enjoyed a little fresh air. She ran around the deck and squealed with delight. It was so great to see her playing outside. I wanted to take her down into the yard but it rained this morning and the grass was very wet and muddy. I posted a couple pictures and a video of her playing on the deck. Hopefully the weather will continue to improve and we can enjoy more days outside. Fresh air is good for everyone!!!
