Cooking and Park

Today Steph and I took Cate to the park and then we baked some cupcakes. She loved helping make the cupcakes. She loved stirring the mix and then she put all of the cupcake papers in the pan. It was really fun to watch her make the cupcakes. Of course after we made them we had to try them. Cake enjoyed eating them just as much as she enjoyed making them.

NYC Trip

This weekend Eric and I went to NY for a friend's wedding. Aunt Steph was very nice and stayed home with Cate for the weekend so that we could have a little time away. It was a quick trip but we did a lot and had a great time. On Saturday before the wedding we walked around the city and went to Times Square and Central Park. Then on Sunday we took a guided tour of Madison Square Garden. It was a great tour and we learned a lot about the garden. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Here are a couple of pictures of Cate in her car seat in the car. (I was not driving when these pictures were taken)

Aunt Steph

Aunt Steph came out to visit us for a week. Cate is loving having someone else to play with. Yesterday Cate, Steph, and I went to the zoo. We had a lot of fun. We got there pretty early so we got to see a lot of the animals out eating their breakfast. We got to see the Giraffes and Elephants up really close. At 10:30 they had bath time for the Elephants. We thought Cate would love to see them get a bath but when the zoo keepers started to spray the elephant with water Cate started to cry. She didn't like seeing the elephants get sprayed down with water. I think that she thought the zoo keepers were being mean to the elephants.

Fun Activities

On a rainy day I took Cate to paint pottery. It went pretty well but Cate just wanted to keep dipping her paint brush in all the paint. It was a fun thing to do but I think that I will wait until she is a little older to do it again.

Here is Cate's finished product.

Eric gave Cate a horse back ride and Cate kept laughing and laughing. She thought it was the best thing ever.

After that we decided to play with play dough. Cate likes to cut out circles and make bracelets.

On a side note, Cate can count to 10 on her own. She likes to walk around the kitchen and count the handles on the drawers and cabinets. The funny thing about her counting is that she never says the number one. I think it is because we always prompted her to start counting by saying "one" and then she would start in with "two".

Ultrasound-18 weeks

On Wednesday I went in for an ultrasound of the baby. The baby looked great and they said that developmentally it is right on track. Eric and I made it through the ultrasound without finding out the baby's gender. It was very tough though. My belly is continuing to grow and I am feeling the baby moving more and more. It really is amazing how fast this pregnancy is going compared to the last one. I think it is because we are so busy with work and Cate that we don't have too much time to think about it. This pregnancy has been going very well though and I am really enjoying being pregnant again. Below I posted a picture of the ultrasound that we got. The quality of the picture isn't too good but I thought I would post it anyway. The head is on the right side and the back is on the bottom of the picture.

Great summer weekend

This weekend we have had some beautiful weather. We spent as much time outside as possible. It was great to have some beautiful summer weather.

We got Cate some new Elmo pj's and she loves them so much that when we took them off of her she threw a tantrum.

This weekend there was a seafood and art festival at a nearby park. We walked down there and enjoyed some great food and wonderful music. This is a picture of Cate dancing to the music.

Here is a picture of Eric and Cate at the festival. Down in all of the tents are food and art. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time.

Today we went to the beach. Cate of course loved to play in the sand. She was a little unsure about the ocean but by the end of the day she didn't want to get out of the water. She helped Eric throw rocks and seashells into the ocean.

Here is a picture of the growing baby bump. I am 17 weeks pregnant now and have been able to feel the baby move. This pregnancy is going by so fast. Next week Eric and I are going for an ultrasound. We are really looking forward to seeing the baby. We are still planning on not finding out the baby's sex.
