Lets go fly a kite...

First I have a couple pictures of the kids playing in our neighborhood:

Here is a picture of the kids playing in the dirt in the field by our house.  Who would of thought that a small pile of dirt could be so much fun.

It has been so windy lately so we decided to roll with it and Eric took the kids out to buy a kite today.  We rode our bikes down to a big field and flew the kite.  Amazingly it started to get too windy to fly the kite.  The kids thought that it was pretty fun.  If you notice Cate is tightly holding on to Eric's leg.  At first she was worried that she was going to blow away.

Spring

The weather has been pretty nice lately and we have been spending a lot more time outside.  This is the field just outside our house.  The kids love to run and play in this big grassy field.

This last weekend I bought a new road bike.  I love it so much and I can now pull the kids behind me in the bike carrier.  The kids love riding in it too.

Today we went over to a friends house for a play date.  There were a bunch of kids there and Cate and Ashton had a great time.

One of my friends Erin started reading a book and all of the kids decided to crawl up on the chair with her.  It was so cute.  

Ashton is starting to like to color and is more willing to sit still long enough to color a picture.

Steamboat

Eric and I took the kids up to Steamboat to visit with my parents for a few days.  We had a wonderful time.  Eric has been traveling a lot and has a bunch of travel coming up so it was great to get to spend some time together.  Here are a few pictures from our visit:

We took the kids to eat lunch at The Creekside Grill.  The food was great and it was nice to walk around town.

My parents bought the kids a wagon to play with at their house.  The loved pushing and pulling it around the driveway.  

Cate got to ride my Mom's horse Tucker.  She loves going down to the barn with my  Mom.  She gets to ride Tucker and feed him carrots and apples.

Back at home:

Ashton loves to put on everyones shoes.  Here is a picture of him wearing Cate's sparkly silver shoes.  

The kids and I were upstairs playing and Ashton came marching in to his room wearing this hat.  He looked so proud of himself that he put it on himself.  

St. Patrick's Day

15 Month Checkup

Yes... I can't believe that Ashton is 15 months old.  I took him to the doctor and he is still a healthy growing boy.  Here are his stats:
Height 32 1/2 (90%), Weight 26lb 15oz (80%), and head 90%
He is starting to talk a little bit now.  He completely understands us and will point to things and get things when we ask him to.  The words that he uses are Momma, Dadda, ball, and uh-oh.  It is amazing how different he is from Cate.  People always tell you that your kids will be different but I never expected them to be so different.  They are both wonderful, loving kids but have such different personalities.  As Ashton gets older, the kids play more and more together and I love watching them play.  We are so blessed to have healthy, happy children!
