March Fun

It is crazy that yet another month has flown by.  We have been very busy this month and I can't believe that April is already upon us.  Here are some pictures:

Grandma and Grandpa came over and brought the parachute to play with.  (Cate is getting a ride in the parachute)

It was very warm for a week and then we had a huge snow storm.  Eric took the kids outside and built this amazing snowman.

We then had a cold spell so one of the mornings I took the kids to Starbucks for a scone and some hot chocolate.

When Cate was at school, Ashton got to go over to his friend Cody's house to play.  Cody has a truck that the kids can drive.  Ashton thought this was so cool as you can see by the huge smile on his face.

I can see Cody and Ashton being great friends for a long time.  They have so much fun together and I really enjoy spending time with his Mom.  The boys found some dirt piles and proceeded to play in the dirt for the next half hour.

I love this picture:  the helmet, digger pajama pants, and drawing basketballs.  He is definitely Eric's son :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The kids read a book at daycare about trapping Leprechauns.  So of course they insisted on making a Leprechaun trap at home.  Eric and I reluctantly agreed to go along with it.  On St. Patrick's day morning we put a piece of chocolate in the jar for the kids.  They got a kick out of it.

I had the idea to put boxes on the stairs down to the basement and to let the kids slide down. It was pretty fun and the kids thought it was amazing that Mom and Dad let them slide down the stairs.

We got a new outdoor couch for our downstairs patio.  Cate and I enjoyed the sun and made jewelry outside while Ashton played in the sandbox.

Dying Easter eggs

Cate is on spring break from school so we invited over two of her friends from her class to play.  They came over for 3 hours and had a fantastic time together.  They played dress up, decorated paper Easter eggs, and jumped and jumped in the trampoline.

While the girls were playing Ashton wasn't too interested in what they were doing so we made a train track, made cookies,  and he rode his trike.

February

We had a very busy February.  Here are some pictures of what we have been up to:

On Valentine's morning the kids came down to find heart placemats and a new friend

With their Daddy

One of the nights that Eric was out of town we had a pizza and movie night.  The kids sat together by the fire.  It was a very relaxing and wonderful night.

Cate and Ashton continue to do gymnastics once a week.  They are really enjoying it and progressing really well.

About once a week Cate has been having a play date with her friend Ava.  They get a long really well and it is nice for them to be able to play after school.

While Cate is at preschool Ashton and I get to spend some quality time together.  He loves to play outside and to go for walks.  What a beautiful Colorado sky!

You have to love the Colorado weather.  One day we are hoofing it through some snow and a few days later we are out in the back yard playing with water.

Cate and Ashton having a water fight in the back yard.  They were having so much fun.  Cate was getting very hot and asked me if they could go put on their swim suits :)

Toy Chest

Grandma Schmidt's childhood toy chest now has a new home at our house.  It is a beautiful chest hand built by her father.  The kids love it and have already decided on which toys to put in the chest.

Steamboat

Last month the kids and I headed up to Steamboat to see Grammy and Grandpa Rlowe.  They had quite a bit of snow for the kids to play in and the weather was beautiful.  We had a great 3 days up there.  Here are some pictures from the visit:

Grandpa Rlowe took the kids tubing behind the 6-wheeler that the kids have named Ranger Rick.  They went for rides up and down the driveway.

I took the kids to visit Grammy at work and they enjoyed some ice cream at the "soda fountain counter"

We always keep very busy when we are in Steamboat
(I love when the kids share a bed)

Lunch time

My Dad sent us home with some Power Ice.  It is a company that my Dad has helped start and the kids LOVE eating the Power Ice.  (If anyone wants to try some you can order your very own box on their website)
