Winter isn't over yet

It was 65 degrees yesterday and today it is snowing. It is amazing how fast the weather can change in Colorado. The good news about the weather change is that Cate got to wear her snow suit that Grammy bought for her. We took her out into the snow today to play. She thought it was fun to walk in the snow. It is funny to look at the pictures from 2 days ago and compare them to now. We were at the pool the other day and today we were playing in the snow. Cate is getting a well rounded vacation!

More fun in Steamboat

Aunt Steph shared some noodles with Cate. She loved trying to pick them off the tray and to eat them. They kept getting stuck to her face.

We decided to take Cate to the pool (warm/hot water springs) and this is a picture of her with her innertube ready to go.

Here are some pictures of us all at the pool. Cate loved going to the pool. As soon as she saw the water she started kicking her legs and squealing.






Yesterday Cate sat with Grandpa in his chair, watched some basketball and ate cookies. What a lucky girl

Fun in Steamboat

Cate and I are having a wonderful time here in Steamboat. The weather has been beautiful. It has been very nice to spend time with my family. Both my sister and my brother are up here in Steamboat too. Cate is having a great time playing with everybody. Here are some pictures of our trip so far:


We took Cate down to the barn to see Grammy's horse Merlin. In this picture she is holding a bag with carrots in it. She thought it was fun to watch Aunt Steph feed the carrots to the horses. She kept saying "more, more" so that Steph would keep feeding them.

In this picture, the horse is my Mom's friend's horse "Moose" because Merlin got a little camera shy.

Since the weather has been so nice we have been able to be outside a lot. Cate had a lot of fun playing on the deck with Grandpa and the dogs.

This is the gate that keeps the dogs out of the kitchen. Cate loves to stand at the gate to pet and talk to the dogs. It is like her very own petting zoo.

Cate loves to give kisses to everyone, and this is a picture of Cate giving Rocky a kiss on the nose.

Cate loves to roll around on Grammy and Grandpa's big couch.

My parents bought a new toy for Cate and last night she had a great time playing with it. She kept trying to lay on the ground just like my Dad. It was very cute.


Also last night I my parents watched Cate and put her to bed so that I could go see a movie with my sister and brother. Eric and I don't ever go to the movies so it was such a luxury. I had a great time.

We made it

We made it to Steamboat. It was a really long day of travel, but Cate did really well. It was a lot of work but it was worth it. We are so happy to be up in Steamboat. Cate loves all the dogs. Aunt Steph's dog Cosmo is here with both of my parents dogs. Cate calls Cosmo "Mamo". It is so cute. She is having so much fun playing with everyone. I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

Chalk

Today was a nice day so Cate and I went out and colored with some chalk in the driveway. Cate loved the chalk and thought it was fun to take them out of the bucket and put them back. Here is a picture and a video of her out in the driveway.

More Spring Fun!

Yesterday we had spring like weather again so we were able to enjoy the outdoors. We took Cate to a park that is at the library I go to. It is a great big play ground with two separate areas for older and younger kids. It is the best play ground. Cate had a great time running around and climbing on all the equipment. Eric and I enjoyed watching her be free outside. Then we went home and had lunch outside on our deck. It was so nice to spend the whole day outside. Last night we went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant that someone at Eric's office recommended. We have been craving mexican food since we moved here. The food was okay, but the menu was pretty funny. It had a big section in the middle that explained what each dish was. It explained what a taco, burrito, enchilada, tostada, etc were. It was funny to us to see that on the menu. Good mexican food is hard to find out here. I have posted a few pictures of our fun day yesterday.





Cate has transitioned into a one nap a day girl. It has been nice for me because now I can take her to the gym with me at 8:30 instead of having to go in the afternoon or before she gets up in the morning. So our new routine is that we go to the gym and then when we get home she has a snack and then I put her in her pack'n'play while I take a shower. She seems to really enjoy it. She sits in there quietly and reads books to herself. It is so sweet. It is nice to have a safe place to put her while I get a few things done. Here are a couple of pictures of her playing.
