Cookies and fire

Today was cold and rainy, so Cate and I decided to make cookies. I let her do most of the work, which was very messy but she had a great time. I posted a couple pictures of her dipping the cookie dough into sugar before we baked them. And of course she loved licking her fingers at the end. She was a great little helper and we had a wonderful time together.

When Eric got home from work he decided to make a fire because the house is pretty chilly. Of course Cate wanted to help Daddy. Eric has his own work gloves and he also bought Cate some work gloves. She loves to put them on and help hand Eric the wood for the fires. It is so adorable to watch her help her Daddy.

Go Broncos and new foods

Yesterday, as many of you know, the Broncos beat the Patriots. Eric and I wore our Broncos gear around town. It was a great game and Cate has now learned how to say "Go Broncos". Cate loves to watch football with her Dad.

Also this weekend Cate tried some new foods. Of course they are foods that everyone loves but it was a big deal to us that she ate them. We ordered pizza for the CU Buffs game on Saturday and Cate at it! Then on Sunday night we had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and she ate them too! It is great that she is finally eating more and more types of foods.

Pumpkin Festival

Yesterday Eric and I took Cate to a pumpkin festival that was 2 minutes from our house. They have a "weigh off" to see who has the biggest pumpkin. There were a lot of huge pumpkins that people brought to the festival to have weighed. I think the winning pumpkin was around 1400 pounds! There was also a zucchini contest to see who had the longest one. I included a picture of all the long zucchinis. They also had a little kid pumpkin patch that had all the characters from Charlie Brown. Cate loved the little pumpkin patch because she could pick up all the pumpkins. There are festivals like this going on all the time in our area and it is fun to check them out each weekend. That is something that is nice about living out here.

I had to include this picture of Cate in her fairy outfit. She puts it on and twirls around in the kitchen. Maybe she will be a ballerina.

Indoor play place

Eric and I have been trying really hard to find an indoor play area to take Cate to. Today we found a place online and decided to try it out. It is about 30 minutes from the house, so not too far. It turned out to be a great place for Cate. They had a bunch of different play houses set up that had different themes. There was a hair dresser one, a store, a school house, a kitchen, etc. She loved playing in them. They also had a dress up station. Cate tried on a bunch of the dresses. She also wanted to put on an elmo costume. She looked so cute in it. The had a giant castle that you climbed into and had a giant tunnel slide. Eric and I took turns climbing up the castle with her and sending her down the slide (even at 28 weeks pregnant I still made it up the castle and down the slide!). They also had a little stage with music so that Cate could dance. She danced all over the stage. Also there was a giant bouncy house. Cate was unsure of it at first but started to get the hang of it. We had a great morning there. I am so happy that we found it. It will be a great place to take her in the winter.

Swimming Lessons

Cate is loving swimming lessons more every week. She talks about it all week and she is doing what she learns at swim lessons in the bath tub at night. We are so happy that she is enjoying them.

Today Eric got in the pool with Cate for swim lessons and I sat on the side and took pictures.

Part of the reason she loves swimming lessons is because they do the hokey pokey

Here they are doing London Bridges

28 Weeks

Today I am 28 weeks pregnant! I am still feeling great. The baby is moving all the time now and loves to kick my ribs. I went to the doctor today and the heartbeat was perfect and my belly is measuring right on track.

Here are some pictures of Cate and her ponytail. She loves looking in the mirror and seeing the ponytail.

Also, Cate is doing really well with potty training. She loves to use her little potty. We have been using mini marshmellows as a reward and they are working like a charm. We are so proud of her. She is the one who initiated potty training by asking us if she could use the potty. So we decided to go with her interest and so far it is going very well.
