Sick kiddo
I haven't posted in awhile because Cate has been very sick. She had a really bad cold for about a week and just when she seemed to be getting better she caught a stomach bug. She was throwing up and had diarrhea for about 36 hours. She wasn't able to keep any food or liquids down. Saturday night Eric and I stayed up late with her on the couch because she was so sick. She continued to be sick on Sunday so we called the doctor and he told us to start giving her pedialyte. We had to give her 1 teaspoon per minute for an hour. She was a real trooper and kept it all down. We were starting to get worried about her being dehydrated though so later that night we gave her some jello (one of great Grandma Myriel's ideas). She loved the jello and kept everything down. She is doing a little better today. We will have to wait and see. Needless to say Eric and I are very tired and hopeful that she will continue to get better.

Ping Pong
As many of you know Eric loves to play ping pong. He has decided to turn our kitchen table into a ping pong table so that we can play anytime. Eric has such a great wife that will allow him to turn the kitchen table into a ping pong table : ) Catherine loves to watch Eric bounce the ping pong ball off of the paddle and has tried to do it herself. I have posted a picture of Cate holding onto the ping pong paddle.
Also I posted a picture of her finally feeling better. She has been very sick for the last few days. She has had a fever, cough, runny nose, and sore throat. She wasn't eating or drinking for about 2 days. It has been a rough couple of days for us. Finally today she has started to feel better, which makes me very happy too. It is so hard to see your child sick.

Great First Day
Catherine went to daycare for her first full day on Monday. Eric dropped her off and she had a couple tears right when he left. I called the daycare mid day to see how she was doing, and they told me that she stopped crying right after Eric left and was doing great. When I picked her up, her teachers told me that she had a great day and didn't cry at all. She played with all of the kids and was as happy as can be. They also told me that Cate had the best first day out of any of the kids they have there. They said that usually kids stand by the gate and cry. She didn't go over to the gate once. Both her teachers kept saying what a happy and wonderful little girl she was. They said that they are so happy to have her there. It is a huge relief for both Eric and I to know that she is going to do well at daycare. My first day at work also went really well. I think that everything is going to work out. Here are some pictures of Cate walking around in her new shoes that I got her. I love New Balance brand shoes and I found some ones for her at the consignment store.

Cold winter
We have been going through a cold spell here. Eric needed to get some more wood to make fires with to heat the house. He took my car and made 2 trips, filling it up each time. Here are some pictures of the wood that he got. Also since it has been cold, Catherine has been staying in her PJs a lot. I posted a video of her doing her favorite thing: walking around the living room.

Family update
So I was thinking that this blog is supposed to keep everyone up to date with our family and I tend to only post things about Cate and not me and Eric. So here is what is going on.
Eric: He is starting to settle into his new job. So far he seems to happy with his new job and excited for what is to come. Cate and I like his new job because he works from home a lot and when he does go to the office it is a lot closer to our house so he gets home sooner. Eric has been working hard this winter keeping our house warm with the wood burning stove. It has been a lot of work for him. He spends time on the weekends chopping wood. I guess we are real "new Englanders" now. Catherine and I are so proud of how hard Eric has been working since we moved out here.
Kristen: I am going to be starting back to work this week. I am training on Thursday and then will officially start working the next week. I am excited to get back to work and spend a little time with some adults. It has been nice to have a break and spend some quality time with Cate, but I am ready to work again. Cate will be starting day care when I am working so I hope that it will be a smooth transition for her.
Cate: Cate is doing well. She is running all over the house now. She loves to walk and run and doesn't like it if you pick her up. That can be troublesome when we go out to stores. All she wants to do is run around the store and see what kind of things she can find. She is also signing a lot more too. She can sign help, more, all done, thank you, and bottle/juice. She continues to look more and more like a little girl everyday. She is growing up so fast.
Well that is what is going on with our family. Of course there will be plenty more pictures of Cate to come.

Coloring and Walking
This is an outfit that Cate got from her Great Aunt Pat and Great Uncle Don for Christmas. It is a size 18months. When she opened it I thought that it looked so big and that it would be a while before she would be able to wear it. I held it up to her and realized that it would fit her. I can't believe how big she is getting. She is really turning into a little girl.

Here is a video of Cate walking around the living room. Her new thing is to huff and puff when she wants to get somewhere fast. She was trying to get over to see Daddy making a fire.
Cate got this table for Christmas from Santa. She loves to color so I taped some packing paper to the table and let her go nuts. She really enjoyed it. This is the before picture

This is the after picture. (She got a little help from Mommy and Daddy with coloring)

This is a video of Cate coloring at the table. She couldn't quite decide on which color crayon to start with.
